While success is defined by a unique set of achievements for each child and family, Christ’s Haven strives to verify the positive expectations of our programs are being met.

As a testimony to our robust programs, the children at Christ’s Haven completed three out of four of their goals and showed progress on another 17% of their goals. Combining these two figures results in children at Christ’s Haven demonstrating measurable changes in 92% of the goals set for them.


Emotional and Spiritual Growth
:

  • Children at Christ’s Haven exhibit higher emotional security than other foster children (nationally) and scores of emotional security improve 50% in their first year of placement.
  • Children exhibited a 20% improvement in their behavioral goals during their first year of placement

  • 93% of teenagers at Christ’s Haven said they have developed a relationship with Jesus Christ since coming to live there.
  • Two thirds of teens said they have been baptized since coming to Christ’s Haven.
  • Over four out of five teens reported that they could talk to their foster parents about spiritual/faith issues.
  • Two out of three teens said the church that they attend while living at Christ’s Haven is important.
  • Three out of four teens reported they were satisfied or very satisfied with the church they attend while living at Christ’s Haven.
  • Three out of four teens said they would attend a church just like their current one if the moved away from Christ’s Haven.
  • Two out of three teens agreed and strongly agreed with the statement “they feel at home in their church.”

Academic Progress:

  • 99% of children at Christ’s Haven achieved B averages or better on their grades.
  • Two out of three children at Christ’s Haven had perfect attendance during each grading period.
  • 100% of students demonstrated either excellent or satisfactory ratings in their classroom behavior reports from school.

Placement Stability:

  • Median length of placement for children at Christ’s Haven is 23 months, which is almost two times more than children in CPS foster care in the state of Texas.
  • While at Christ’s Haven no child is moved. They remain in the same home experiencing stability and the resulting feelings of security, necessary for a healthy development. Children in CPS foster care, during the same duration of time as children at who stay at Christ’s Haven, experience a median number of three moves into different homes, or to live with different families.
