Intended Results

The children at Christ’s Haven for Children demonstrated positive changes in 97% of the goals set for them, including the following:

  • Spiritual
  • Emotional  
  • Educational  
  • Family Relationships
  • Home-Life Stability

Spiritual Growth:

  • More than four out of five teenagers said they have developed a relationship with Jesus Christ since coming to Christ’s Haven
  • Of the 13 teenagers surveyed this fall, seven indicated they had been baptized since coming to Christ’s Haven
  • Three out of four teenagers say they can talk to their houseparents about spiritual issues

Emotional Growth:

  • Seven out of ten children at Christ’s Haven for Children exhibit higher emotional security than foster children at other settings

Academic Progress:

  • 80% of the children at Christ’s Haven achieved a B average or better on their grades
  • 96% of students demonstrated either excellent or satisfactory rating in their classroom behavior reports

Relationships with Parents and Families:

  • Over 95% of parents are happy with Christ’s Haven’s services to their children
  • Over 95% of parents believe that the houseparents have effectively helped their child

Home-Life Stability:

  • While Child Protective Services move children on average 3 times, during the same period of time, our children are not moved at all
  • Children at Christ’s Haven for Children remain in the same home experiencing stability and the resulting feelings of security, necessary for healthy development
